In the spirit of LPK Typefest, we’ve explored the intricacies of typography from its anatomy and pairings to sensory experiences and sins against type. But there’s one thing we’re particularly passionate about: typeface personality.
The personality of a typeface—also known as type resonance—is the overtone of a type design based on a connotative experience with it: historic, romantic, business, exotic, etc. Type embodies traits that can efficiently and powerfully communicate a message.
Inspired by the site 16 Personalities, we paired typefaces with the personality types from the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) questionnaire to create unique descriptions we think meet each typeface’s personality.
