LPK employees share an intensely entrepreneurial and creative spirit. So it’s no surprise that some of us have formed a true artist collective: L-Flea-K. Debuting at the September City Flea, the Cincinnati-curated urban flea market, at Washington Park this Saturday, L-Flea-K consists of 18 LPK employees with a crafty spirit, a cheeky name and a professionally designed brandmark, of course.
L-Flea-K began as an idea between a handful of designers, all of whom had attended or participated in City Flea earlier in 2013 or during its inaugural year in 2012. Bumping into each other there, we saw the potential to join the Flea as a group to share the very best of our creations.
“We have so many talented people and such a strong camaraderie within our offices,” says Holly Shoemaker, LPK Design Director and the mastermind behind L-Flea-K. “This project has reinforced the mutual trust and friendship we have for each other, bringing our diverse talents together to create inspirational work.
L-Flea-K members span LPK’s disciplines; they are designers, writers and trends forecasters.
“We’re creative people and it’s our nature to pursue big ideas like this,” says Copy Director Emily Kennedy. “It’s a time to celebrate our passion and show off what we do when we’re not sitting in our offices during the day.”
“I love LPK’s involvement with City Flea,” says City Flea Co-Founder Lindsay Dewald. “We’ve never done anything like this before and it’s such a positive experience. We can’t wait to see how the L-Flea-K booth turns out.”
This Saturday’s City Flea is September 21st from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Washington Park. If you’re looking for patterned quilts, delectable sweet treats, rad pillows, fashionable infinity scarves, wood block prints or screen-printed posters (and much, much more) be sure to check out our booth and say hi to the L-Flea-K group.
