LPK Elevates Valerie Jacobs to Vice President, Group Director, LPK Trends

LPK, the international brand design agency, announces the promotion of Valerie Jacobs to Vice President, Group Director, LPK Trends. Established in 2007, LPK Trends employs a proprietary socio-cultural trend model to determine trend drivers that directly influence consumer lifestyles, values, behaviors and attitudes, and has grown to a group of ten, with further growth expected.

“The work of Valerie and her team plays a critical role to many of our client brands and will be even more essential to our business in the future,” noted Phil Best, chief operating officer, LPK.

Ms. Jacobs is a seasoned global design forecaster with 15 years in the marketing communications and design fields. She has been an assistant professor at the University of Cincinnati, College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning (DAAP) since 2001. In her coursework, she facilitates the learning of complex ideas in the areas of trend forecasting, branding and product development.

An accomplished orator and author, Ms. Jacobs is often called upon for her trend insight and expertise, by the In-Store Marketing Institute (ISMI), the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), the Design Management Institute (DMI), and respected media outlets like The New York Times and BusinessWeek. She is also a frequent guest lecturer at academic institutions such as New York University, Clemson University, the University of Cincinnati’s College of Business, and for Live Well Collaborative, a non-profit company that exists between the University of Cincinnati and several Fortune 100 corporations.

Ms. Jacobs has a Master’s of Design in fashion design and product development from the University of Cincinnati DAAP and holds a Bachelor of Science from Birmingham-Southern College, Birmingham, Alabama. She resides in Hyde Park.
